In 2016, we embraced change and transformed into the Liberian Institute of Architects, setting the stage for a new era of architectural excellence.
Our Evolution
Founded with a vision to elevate architectural practice, the LCA swiftly became the focal point for architectural minds in Liberia. Guided by a commitment to progress, we embarked on a transformative journey in 2016, adopting the name Liberian Institute of Architects (LIA). This rebranding marked our dedication to advancing architectural innovation and fostering a community of visionary architects.
Architects of Authority
The LIA is not just an organization; it's a community of Trained Licensed Architects who have dedicated their careers to shaping environments that inspire, function, and endure. We are the authorizing entity for licensing architects in Liberia, ensuring that our professionals adhere to the highest standards of skill, ethics, and responsibility.
Pioneering Legislation
In August - 2023, after years of relentless pursuit, the LIA's Act of 2022 was passed by the Legislature. This landmark legislation solidifies our role, along with the Architects Registration Board (ARB), as a regulatory body, empowering us to guide, govern, and contribute to the architectural landscape of Liberia with a renewed sense of purpose.

The LIA proudly represents Liberia on a global stage. As a Country Member of the Africa Union of Architects (AuA), the West Africa Union of Architects (WAuA), and the Union of International Architects (UIA), we foster collaborations, exchange ideas, and contribute to the worldwide architectural discourse.
